Cranberry Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 cups (12-ounce bag) cranberries, washed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange peel
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

How to Make Cranberry Sauce Directions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water.
  2. Stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Bring to a boil, and boil for 5 minutes.
  4. Add cranberries and continue to boil until cranberry skins pop open, about 5 minutes.
  5. Skim off foam, if necessary.
  6. Pour cranberries into a dish, and allow to cool before serving.
