Pumpkin Chiffon Pie Recipe

Description: We just know you will enjoy this pumpkin recipe. It is an oldie, but goodie. You can make your own pie shell,. Or, make it easier on yourself and buy one.


Ingredients:
  • 1 pie shell (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cups dark brown sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups, pumpkin puree, cooked
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 5 egg whites


How to Make Pumpkin Chiffon Pie:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg yolks, spices, pumpkin puree, then heavy cream.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat egg white until they form light peaks.
  5. Stir 1/4 of egg whites into the pumpkin mixture.
  6. Fold in remaining egg white.
  7. Pour pumpkin mixture into the pie shell.
  8. Bake in oven for 45-50 minutes.
  9. Cool before serving.
