But, don’t limit this treat to Halloween. Make it all season long. It also is a great addition to the Thanksgiving dessert tray.
Halloween Trivia: The night before Halloween is called Mischief Night. Also, it is called Cabbage Night, as cabbage is often used in Mischief Night pranks.
Creamed Cheese Pumpkin Bars Ingredients
1 (16oz.) package golden pound cake mix
2 eggs
2 egg whites
2 Tablespoons margarine, melted
3/4 cups chopped walnuts
3 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 (14 oz.) canned sweet condensed milk
1 (16 oz. can) pumpkin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (8 oz. package) cream cheese, softened
How to Make Creamed Cheese Pumpkin Bars Directions
Preheat oven to 350° F.
In a large bowl, combine cake mix, 1 egg, margarine, ½ cup walnuts, and 1 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice.
Press the mixture into the bottom of a 15 X 10-inch jelly roll pan. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy.
Gradually beat in condensed milk, remaining egg, egg whites, pumpkin, remaining 1 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Mix together well.
Pour mixture over crust.
Sprinkle 1/4 cup walnuts on top.
Bake 30 – 35 minutes or until set.
Chill, then cut into bars.
Store in the refrigerator.
