Looking to freshen your breathe? Try pumpkin mints. Okay, these mints have no pumpkin flavor. But, we call them pumpkin mints anyway! It’s a novel breath freshener.
Yield: Approximately 40 mints
Ingredients:
1/4 cup milk
4 teaspoons butter
3 1/2 cups confectionery sugar
2-3 drops oil of peppermint
yellow food coloring
green food coloring
red food coloring
Pumpkin Mints Recipe Directions:
In a large saucepan, warm milk and butter, until the butter has melted.
Add in confectionery sugar and oil of peppermint, mixing thoroughly.
Knead with your hands until smooth.
Separate 1/6 of fondant, and use food coloring to make it green. Mix in well.
Cover green fondant to keep it from drying out.
With the remainder of the fondant, mix in yellow and red food coloring until it is the orange color of pumpkins.
Break off a small piece of orange fondant and roll it into a ball.
Use a toothpick to make small grooves like a pumpkin has.
Roll small pieces of green fondant into a cylinder shape. Cut into short stem sized pieces.
Press green stem onto the pumpkin.
Allow to harden.
