Note: If serving cider at a party, you may want to double the recipe, so you can re-fill the bowl as it empties.
How to Make Pumpkin Cider Bowl Directions
Heat apple cider with the cinnamon sticks and nutmeg on low heat.
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Cut the lid off the pumpkin and scoop out the insides.
In a large, shallow pan, add 1/2″ of water, and place the pumpkin upside down.
Cook pumpkin in the oven for about 30 minutes, until pulp is just beginning to get soft. Do not cook it too long, or it will not hold the cider.
Remove the pumpkin from the oven.
Pour cider into the pumpkin bowl.
Serve cider hot. A little of the pulp may get in the mug…that’s a good thing!
Important Note: The first time you make this, we recommend placing the pumpkin bowl inside of a flat, shallow dish or bowl. If you have cooked it too long, the pumpkin can leak or split. The trick is to cook the pumpkin just until it starts to get soft.
