Pumpkin Dandies Recipe Description

Pumpkin dandies recipe makes a candy that you will certainly want to include on your Halloween party snack list.

You can also use this pumpkin recipe for Thanksgiving and other Fall seasonal parties, or an evening snack.

Yield: about 2 1/2 dozen

 

Ingredients:

1 cupPumpkin
1 cupSugar
1 1/4 cups3Coconut Flakes
1/2 teaspoonCinnamon
1/4 teaspoonNutmeg
 Walnuts or Peanuts, finely chopped
 Candied Cherries

Pumpkin Dandies Recipe Directions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine pumpkin, sugar, coconut and spices.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  3. The candy is done, when it becomes thick and forms a ball in the center of the pan.
  4. Pour mixture onto a buttered cookie sheet.
  5. Cover loosely with plastic wrap, and allow to completely cool.
  6. Lightly butter hands, and then shape candy into bite-sized balls.
  7. Roll candy ball in chopped nuts.
  8. Top with a candied cherry half. Press it lightly into the candy.
  9. Cover and store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
