Pumpkin Nut Bread Description

You simply must try this pumpkin nut bread recipe. It’s a family favorite for fall and holiday events. We’re certain you will add it to your family favorites, too.

Number of Servings: Two small bread loaves.


1 cupFresh or Canned Pumpkin
2 cupsSifted Flour
1 cupSugar
1/2 cupMilk
1/4 cupSoft Butter or margarine
1 cupChopped Walnuts
2 teaspoonsBaking Powder
1/2 teaspoonBaking Soda
1 teaspoonCinnamon
1/2 teaspoonNutmeg
1 teaspoonSalt

Pumpkin Nut Bread Recipe Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and spices.
  3. In a separate large bowl, combine pumpkin, sugar, milk and eggs.
  4. Add dry ingredients, and butter to pumpkin mixture until well blended.
  5. Mix in chopped nuts.
  6. Pour into greased loaf pans (9″x5″x3″).
  7. Bake in oven for 45 to 55 minutes.
  8. Check with a toothpick. It is done when it comes out clean.

Serving Tips and Suggestions:

  • Slice to desired thickness after completely cool.
  • Serve with a glass of hot apple cider mull.
