While people in America most often use pumpkins for baked goods, people in many other countries around the world use them like a vegetable as a side dish.,

Pumpkin Trivia: A pumpkin is a fruit. Most people think of it as a vegetable. They are 90% water.
Mashed Pumpkin Ingredients
3-4 cups
Pumpkin, cooked, mashed
1
Onion
2 tbs.
Olive Oil
1
Bell Pepper
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
How to Make Mashed Pumpkin Directions
To cook a pumpkin, clean one pumpkin and peel it.
Cook it until soft.
Mash it with a mixer.
Re-heat in a large saucepan.
Thinly slice an onion.
Fry the onion in olive oil till brown.
Add browned onions to the pumpkins. Mix in.
Add coarse salt and fresh ground pepper to taste.
