1 1/2 cupsEvaporated Skim Milk
3Eggs
3/4 teaspoonCinnamon
1/8 teaspoonGround cloves
1/4 teaspoonGinger
1 teaspoonGrated Orange Peel
1/4 teaspoonNutmeg
1/4 teaspoonSalt
1Unbaked Pie Shell

How to Make Traditional Pumpkin Pie Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425° F.
  2. Mix pumpkin, sugars, orange peel, and spices in a large bowl.
  3. Add evaporated milk and eggs.
  4. Mix all ingredients well
  5. Pour pumpkin filling into the pie shell.
  6. Bake at 450° F for fifteen minutes.
  7. Reduce heat to 350° F and bake for 45 minutes more.

TIP: If the crust begins to get too brown, loosely cover the crust only with foil.

  • Substitute allspice for nutmeg.
