Puppy Chow with Worms Halloween Snack

This Halloween snack is one that kids and adults will chow down on. It is guaranteed to be a hit.

The "twist" to this recipe, is that you mix in a dozen Gummi worms, to make the snack gross-like.

Puppy Chow should be served in a real dog dish. But please, use a brand new, never used(by a dog) dog dish.

Use this recipe for more than Halloween parties. It makes a great snack for fall birthday parties, football games, and year round events.

Puppy Chow Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces of any flavor Chex cereal or Crispix

  • 1/2 cup butter, margarine or oleo.

  • 1 cup crunchy peanut butter

  • 12 ounce package semi sweet chocolate chips

  • 2 - 3 cups powdered sugar

  • 1 dozen Gummi worms

How to Make Puppy Chow:

  1. In a medium microwave safe bowl, combine butter, peanut butter and chocolate chips.

  2. Microwave on high for one minute. Stir mixture.

  3. Heat for an additional minute and stir again.

  4. Reheat and stir a little more until mixture is smooth.

  5. Pour the cereal into a large bowl.

  6. Pour mixture over the cereal.

  7. Stir gently until the cereal is well coated.

  8. Pour the powdered sugar into a large bag. (paper works better than plastic)

  9. Pour the coated cereal into the powdered sugar.

  10. Shake well until cereal is well coated with powdered sugar.

  11. Lay out wax paper onto a counter or table.

  12. Spread puppy show onto the waxed paper and allow to cool and dry.

  13. Store in a covered container or food storage bag until ready to use.

  14. Pour Puppy Chow into a brand new, clean dog dish.

  15. Mix in a dozen Gummi worms for a gross appearance.

Tip: Wormy Puppy Chow goes great with Graveyard Bones
